Hair Service FAQ’s
-
All of our hair services are given a base price. This is determined by the average time, and product costs to complete that service. This price is based on above shoulder length hair of medium density and fine thickness. Factors such as hair length, thickness and density will affect your final cost, as well as any additional treatments or processes involved in achieving your hair goals. The best way to determine how much your hair colour or lightening service will cost is by coming in to the salon or filling out our online consultation form.
-
Our licensed stylists all start at Junior level, regardless of their background or experience. They are promoted to intermediate and then senior based on their technical skill and client satisfaction and retention. We test all of our stylists skills and only allow bookings for services that we are confident they can properly execute.
-
A colour correction is a chemical colour service done to take hair from light to dark all over, dark to light all over, or to alter a previously done chemical colour.
Simply put, a "colour" service is a one-process service of one-time colour application.
A highlight, balayage or ombre service is a two-process service, one-time application of lightener and one-time application of toner... and anything that requires more than two processes is entering the realm of corrective work.
-
If you are unhappy with the results of your hair appointment the best time to let us know is before you leave the salon. Our stylists want you to be happy, thats why they do what they do! When clients let us know what they are not happy with, our stylist are always grateful to know and eager to correct any technical errors.
Once you leave the salon, you have 7 days in which a complimentary correction or salon credit is available pending management discretion. Please call or email the salon if you are ever unsatisfied with your service and lets work together to correct the issue.
-
The best condition for your hair to be in for any hair service is a day-old and as free from product as possible.
Try not to tie up or clip up your hair as this can cause kinks and make styling or application of chemicals more difficult.
Try not to wear a hat or headband before your chemical or dry cut/style hair service.
-

Hair Extension FAQ’s
-
While we prefer to work with hair extensions from our trusted suppliers, you are more than welcome to purchase your own hair extensions for our stylists to apply.
We recommend purchasing one pack of extensions to bring with you for your consultation so your stylist can inspect and become familiar with the product.
Please note that we cannot guarantee the quality and wear of extensions purchased independently.
-
The most popular types of extensions we do at the salon are definitely tape but our stylists are able to apply many types including:
1. Bonded / Tape - Small sections of hair are "sandwiched" between two, flat, pieces of extension hair containing a special adhesive.
2. Cold Fusion / I-Tip - These strand extensions are applied to the hair by carefully clamping a small ring or bead around the natural hair and extension to hold them together.
3. Hot Fusion / U-Tip - These strand extensions are applied to the hair by using a heated tool to melt the keratin tip bonds to your natural hair.
While the above are the most popular types of semi-permanent extensions we offer, we can also order and install clip-ins, halos, bang-clip ins and a multitude of other hair extensions options.
-
Yes! We are able to order your hair extensions during your consultation and they are typically available for same or next day delivery.
Your hair extensions must be paid for in full at the time of the order.
We recommend purchasing your hair extensions through our salon/our suppliers as we are able to stand by their quality and also work with the supplier should there be a quality concern.
-
Hair extensions come in a wide range of colours and we are usually able to find a colour to match yours, or a colour that is very close to your own.
We find that an overall toning may be required in some cases to ensure the most natural blend possible.
If you are planning to have your hair coloured or lightened we suggest having your lightening completed and extensions applied in the same day.
-
We've put together a little hair extension "Dos" section to help you care for your new hair. Your stylist will explain proper maintenance to you before you leave the salon, and you can always call us or pop in for advice.
Purchase a good quality detangling brush and take care when brushing your hair extensions
Do not brush over your hair extension bonds, or at least try not too! Also, invest in a quality hair brush to prevent excessive damage.
Minimize your use of hot tools (flat irons and curling rods/wands). NEVER apply heat directly to your bonds as this can melt the keratin and/or tape causing your extensions to slide down, or become unattached
Use good quality, salon professional products on your hair. (Sulfate and paraben free, non-alcohol based)
Purchase a good quality, deep conditioning masque for use on the ends of your hair weekly. Again, do not apply directly to bonds
Keep hair out of salt water, heavy chlorine and hot tubs
Completely dry your hair before going to sleep - Never sleep on wet hair extensions - We suggest securing your hair in a braid or pony and wrap in a silk scarf, or use a silk pillowcase to sleep on
Discuss any planned future chemical services with your stylist before completing them to ensure that they will not affect or damage your hair extensions
Keep your scheduled maintenance appointments with your stylist and have adjusted as necessary
Be gentle with your hair extensions... no pulling or tugging especially at the bond.
