Brow styling has exploded over the last couple years with brow tinting and lamination/perming becoming as popular as lash enhancement services.

We offer a few different options for brow styling at Sparks Salon so here is a little help choosing the right one for you.

Quick Wax or Just Tint:

This is just a quick clean up for the brow area or a tint application following the shape your brows already have. This service does not include full brow mapping or styling and is for clients who are happy with their current brows but just need some stray hairs cleaned up or overall darkening.

Brow Styling (with or without tint):

Brow styling includes a full brow mapping and shaping session where our brow artist finds the perfect brow shape for you then follows it up with some henna tinting for fullness.

This service is great for clients who would like to shape their brows and also add fullness.

Clients who benefit from this service might also benefit from brow powdering as its is a more permanent tinted appearance.

Brow Lamination:

Brow lamination is best for clients who have a decent amount of brow hair and fullness but would like their brows to be more streamlined, look thicker and be easier to manage.

The perm straightens your brow hairs making them appear longer and making them more pliable .

Brow Powdering:

Brow powdering is like brow tinting 2.0. It gives similar results by shading in your skin but instead of using henna the pigment is deposited into your skin for results that last between 1-3 years (or longer with touchups). This is a great option for clients who benefit from brow shaping and tinting, but are tired of coming in every 2-3 weeks to have it redone.

There are three options for enhancing your lashes at Sparks salons. They are tinting, lifting/perming and extensions. They’re all great choices depending on what your lash goals are and how much maintenance youre willing to put in.

Lash Tints:

Great for clients who are happy with their length and fullness but have lighter coloured lashes that don’t show up as much as they could. Lash tinting can least anywhere between 2-4 weeks before having to be retouched.

Lash Lifts (with or without tint)

Best for clients who are happy with the amount of lashes they have but would like them to appear longer, or to add more curl to very straight lashes. Lash lifts/perms use a small rod to set the lashes at a tight or loose curl depending on the desired results.

Lashes can be tinted darker (or lighter) at the same time for a more dramatic effect.

Lash lifts last around 2-4 weeks before needing to be redone.

Lash Extensions:

Lash extensions are when your lash artist adheres synthetic lashes of a predetermined length and thickness onto your natural lashes to lengthen them and add more volume. These lashes come in many colours and curls and can be applied with a classic technique (1 extension to 1 natural lash) or a volume technique (from 2-8+ extensions on 1 natural lash).

Lash extensions must be refilled periodically to maintain their balance and fullness. Each refill session takes approximately 1 hour and on average clients come in for a refill every 2 weeks.

Contrary to popular belief, lash extensions do not “fall off” the lash as …rather they ride out WITH your natural lash during it’s life cycle. Meaning that as long as they are adhered properly to the natural lash, they will last as long as that lash does.

Depending on your natural lash cycle your may be able to go a couple weeks to a month between lash appointments without them getting to sparse. Most people pop in for a refill every 2 weeks to keep them looking fresh and full.

There are many other factors that will affect the longevity of your lash extensions including your after care, product usage and lifestyle.

We recommend having your full set of lash extensions completed a maximum of three days before any significant event that you want them to look their best for.

If you are new to lashes ideally you would have them completed 3 days before the event to allow time to adjust to having them, ensure that there are no issues with their wear and to allow time to have them removed should a very rare issue arrive.

Revive7 Science Lash Growth Serum? Yes, absolutely! In fact we recommend it to keep lashes healthy and strong under the lash extensions.

Other brands…we aren’t sure. You’ll have to check with the manufacturer.

You can… but we would recommend that you don’t in order to preserve your lash extensions for as long as possible. If you are finding that you aren’t getting enough drama with your current set we recommend speaking with your artist about upgrading you to the next volume.

With lash options from 1D - 8D+ we are bound to find just the right level of volume for you.

No. We do not refill work done by technicians outside of Sparks Salon. We also recommend booking with the same lash technician consistently within our salon as well as they will know your lash lengths, preferred style and are familiar with their application style.

If you would like to have your lashes completed by a Sparks Salon artist you will have to come to the salon with no lashes for a full set, or have our lash artist remove them and reapply a full set. Then you can come to us for your refills.

While reactions to our lash glue or lashes themselves are extremely rare, we would recommend that any client who experiences itching, swelling, dry skin or other signs on irritation to their lash lids after having lash extensions applied book a lash removal at Sparks Salon immediately.

Our lash technician will assess the situation and remove your lashes if necessary.

If you have had a reaction to lash extension application in the past please let us know before booking your appointment as we can do a patch test ($20) where 5 lashes are applied to both eyes and monitored by the client at home over a period of 48 hours. If there is no reaction then we can go ahead and schedule the full set application.

If there are any additional concerns we recommend consulting with your doctor before having lash extensions applied.
